What is TempSense?

TempSense is a wireless bearing temperature monitoring system built into Vermeer ZR self-propelled balers. It’s designed to give operators real-time insights into the health of critical components — specifically, the high-stress bearings within the bale chamber. 

By continuously monitoring bearing temperatures, TempSense helps operators detect early signs of wear, contamination or failure. How TempSense works

The TempSense system uses a network of wireless sensors strategically placed near key bearings in the bale chamber. These sensors continuously track temperature data and send alerts to the operator via the in-cab control system. 

Here’s how the alert system works: 

• Yellow indicator: Signals that a bearing is running hotter than normal and should be inspected or maintained soon. 

• Red indicator: Indicates that a bearing has reached a critical temperature and requires immediate attention. 

This intuitive color-coded system allows operators to make informed decisions on the fly — all without leaving the cab.
