New Vermeer 605 S-series lineup brings more choice to hay producers
September 2026
When hay is ready, there is no time for downtime.
Whether you’re baling a few hundred acres or managing a large operation across multiple crops, every weather window matters. Equipment needs to keep up, produce consistent bales and help operators make the most of every pass through the field.
That’s the thinking behind the new Vermeer 605 S-series round balers.
Designed with input from producers and built on decades of Vermeer baling experience, the 605 S-series lineup gives hay producers more choices than ever before — from straightforward, dependable baling to advanced automation and monitoring technology.
Built on a legacy of baling performance
Vermeer has long been at the forefront of round baler technology, introducing features like moisture sensing, onboard scales and advanced in-cab controls years before they became common across the industry.
The new 605 S-series builds on that foundation with practical features designed to simplify baling and help operators stay productive during long days in the field.
Premium models feature TempSense™ bearing temperature monitoring, which helps operators identify potential issues before they turn into costly downtime. Automation features such as auto eject can further reduce operator workload by automatically wrapping, ejecting and resetting for the next bale once a target size is reached.
Instead of adding complexity, these technologies are designed to help operators focus on what matters most — making quality bales efficiently.
Designed to produce consistent, high-quality bales
One of the most noticeable updates across the lineup is a redesigned rotor feeding system that helps distribute crop more evenly across the bale chamber.
For producers, that means more consistent bale shape, improved edge density and smoother feeding performance, particularly in heavy or uneven windrows.
All 605 S-series balers also utilize the Atlas Pro™ control system, giving operators real-time visibility into bale shape, moisture, density and machine performance. Key settings can be adjusted from the cab, allowing operators to fine-tune performance throughout the day without leaving the tractor seat.
A baler for every operation
The 605 S-series lineup was developed around a simple idea: not every producer needs the same baler.
That’s why Vermeer offers four distinct models designed to meet different operational needs while delivering the core durability and bale quality producers expect.

605S Rancher
For producers looking for straightforward, dependable performance, the 605S Rancher focuses on reliability and ease of use. With lower horsepower requirements and fewer complexities, it delivers the core baling performance Vermeer is known for.

605S Signature
The 605S Signature is built for operators who bale a variety of crop types and want additional performance features. Enhanced feeding components and increased belt speed help improve throughput and feeding consistency across changing field conditions.

605S Premium
For producers focused on maximizing productivity and uptime, the 605S Premium adds advanced automation and machine monitoring. Features such as TempSense bearing monitoring and Auto Lube come standard, while options like auto eject help reduce operator fatigue during long baling days.

605S Cornstalk Special
Purpose-built for tough, abrasive crop conditions, the 605S Cornstalk Special combines the Premium platform with additional features designed to improve feeding performance and productivity when baling cornstalks and other demanding materials.
Confidence in every field
From small hay operations to large-scale forage producers, the 605 S-series lineup gives customers the ability to choose a baler that matches their operation today while providing the durability and performance needed for future seasons.
The result is a lineup designed to help producers make the most of every weather window, produce consistent bales and spend more time baling — and less time worrying about their equipment.
As hay operations continue to evolve, the Vermeer 605 S-series is designed to help producers stay productive, efficient and ready for whatever the season brings.
